General introduction

The National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) under the Ministry of Health was established under Decision No. 376/QD-TTg dated March 23, 2009 of the Prime Minister. The Institute operates under the Regulation on Organization and Operation issued together with Decision No. 6065/QD-BYT dated December 30, 2019 of the Minister of Health.

The Institute is the highest level food testing unit of the health sector; be subject to the state management of professional medical activities by the Ministry of Health and by state management agencies in related fields in accordance with law.
